Stable Gas Prices Should Put a Smile on Faces This Mother’s Day Weekend

It’s Mother’s DaGasolinePumpsy, and moms across the U.S are still enjoying their special day doing all sorts of things. If gasoline was purchased to complete any of these special activities, everyone can breathe easier. Gasoline prices are stable this Mother’s Day weekend.

After rising to a high of $3.784 per gallon for regular (87 octane), gasoline prices have been falling or holding steady since the week of February 25, 2013 across the U.S. For the week of May 6, 2013, GasBuddy.com is reporting $3.43 per gallon, or 15¢ below the national average for Phoenix, AZ.

Memorial Day Weekend is two weeks away. This usually signals the beginning of the summer driving season, and in recent years, the price or gasoline has started to move upward a few weeks before the holiday weekend.

Better prices can be found at Costco or Sam’s Club in metro-Phoenix. One will pay an average of $3.29 for regular at the warehouse retailers. As of today, there are no major squabbles to report between oil producing nations, some of the refineries that were shut-down because of fire or maintenance are back online, and it appears that the U.S. is managing its appetite for petro better than it has in previous years.

So far, so good! Enjoy the rest of Mother’s Day
